To provide a railway rolling stock drive unit which provides a high reduction gear ratio in a small size and has improved lubrication performance and higher reliability.
The railway rolling stock drive unit 12 includes: a reduction gear housing 13 supported on the inner diameter surface of a wheel 11; an input-side rotating member 14; a speed reduction mechanism 15; and first and second carriers 24, 25. The speed reduction mechanism 15 includes curved plates 17, 18, inner pins 19, 20, and outer pins 21. Inner pin bearings 19e, 20e and outer pin bearings 21a are attached to at least either of the inner pins 19, 20 and the outer pins 21. The inner pin bearings 19e, 20e and outer pin bearings 21a have through-holes which penetrate in the radial direction.
