Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain the title copolymer having a decreased PE content and improved transparency by filtering a specified random ethylene/cycloolefin copolymer solution. CONSTITUTION:A polymer solution prepared by dissolving 20-40g/l of a random cycloolefin copolymer obtained by copolymerizing 85-15mol% ethylene with 85-15mol% cycloolefin of formula I (wherein (n) is 0 or 1; (m) is 0 or a positive integer; R<1> to R<18> are each H, halogen or a hydrocarbon group; R<5> to R<18> may be combined to form a monocyclic or polycyclic ring which may have a double bond) or formula II (wherein (l) is 0 or an integer of 1 or greater; (m) and (n) are each 0-2; R<1> to R<15> are each H, halogen, an aliphatic or aromatic hydrocarbon group or alkoxy, and R<5> or R<6> and R<9> or R<7> may be combined directly or through a 1-3C alkylene group) in a solvent is filtered to separate solid PE produced as a by-product in a small amount.
