Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a range-finding device for a camera capable of accurately correcting the result of range-finding by a spot lacking phenomenon regardless of a photographing direction without necessitating a light emitting element having special shape.
CONSTITUTION: This device is a range-finding device for a camera provided with a light projecting means consisting of a light projecting element 3 and a light projecting lens 25, and a photoreceptor means consisting of a photoreceptor element 4 and a light receiving lens 24; and projecting light toward a subject 30 and obtaining a distance based on the position of an image by reflected light from the subject 30 on the photoreceptor element 25. The photoreceptor element 25 is a two-dimensional element and is provided with arithmetic means 15 and 16 processing output signals obtained from two pairs of output terminals and obtaining the result of range-finding, then it is arranged so that the horizontal direction of the camera at the time of ordinary photographing and a base length direction G may form an angle. It is good to concurrently use a warning device and a rotation angle detecting device capable of obtaining the rotation angle of the camera.
