To provide an inexpensive range hood which automatically exhausts according to an operating condition of a heating cooker.
A range hood is arranged at an upper part over a heating cooker 1 and is provided with a fan motor 6 for exhausting lamp soot and smell generated during cooking to the outside thereof, and a control unit 14 for connecting a temperature detector 9 comprising a thermoelectromotive force type temperature sensor for detecting infrared ray around a periphery of the heating cooker 1, an operation input part 11, and a motor drive part 13 which drives the fan motor 6. In the range hood which automatically drives the fan at a temperature detected by the temperature detector 9, the control unit 14 is characterized in that the mount height of the range hood is calculated by signals from the temperature detector 9.
