PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication system in which ranging between the transmission side and reception side is classified into an initial ranging, a band request ranging and a periodic ranging.
SOLUTION: The number of initial ranging codes for the initial ranging, the number of band request ranging codes for the band request ranging and the number of periodic raging codes for the periodic ranging are allocated, a backoff value of the periodic ranging codes according to the number of the allocated periodic ranging codes and after that, the backoff values of the determined initial ranging codes, the band request ranging codes and the periodic ranging codes are transmitted to the reception side.
