Abstract:

PURPOSE: To prepare a clinically and commercially acceptable rapamycin formulation, useful as, e.g. an immunosuppressant for suppressing rejection occurring at the time of allogenic organ transplantation. CONSTITUTION: This rapamycin aqueous parenteral injection is obtained by a prescribed method and contains rapamycin at 0.025-3 mg/mL concentration. The method comprises mixing 5-30 vol.% concentrated solution of rapamycin in propylene glycol at 0.5-10 mg/mL rapamycin concentration with a diluent solution containing 0.1-10 wt.% one or more polyoxyethylene sorbitan esters, 10-60 wt.% polyethylene glycol 200, 300 or 400 or a combination thereof and 30-89.9 vol.% water. Furthermore, a medicine comprising the concentrated solution and the diluent solution is used by mixing both before intravenous injection.
