Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide an engine for a motorcycle which is constituted to form an engine in a compact manner and prevent breakage of an ignition timing control device.
CONSTITUTION: A valve system 27 is driven through a transmission means 29, such as a cam chain, by a drive sprocket 30 arranged at the end part of the journal 17a of a crank shaft 17 pivotally supported by means of a bearing 16 in a crank case 15. Meanwhile, in a case the ignition timing of an ignition plug 23 is controlled through detection of rotation of a rotor 32 for an ignition signal, arranged at the end part of a journal 17a, by a sensor 33 for an ignition signal, a rotor 32 for an ignition signal is arranged between a drive sprocket 30 and a bearing 16 in a crank case 15.
