Title:
RARE EARTH ELEMENT PERMANENT MAGNET
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS6476703
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a permanent magnet performing stability of tetragonal crystal compound, containing one of rare earth elements and having sufficiently high Curie point instead of an Sm-Co series magnet which contains a large quantity of expensive Co by adding specific amount of Ti to R-Fe series.

CONSTITUTION: A permanent magnet containing one of rare earth elements is obtained by melting, casting, pulverizing, molding in a magnetic field, and sintering, by a powder metallurgical method, a composition represented by a formula (where R is one or more of are earth elements including Y, x is 12≤x≤30%, y is 1≤y≤10%, and z is 0<z≤34% by wt.%) and having in a main phase a body-centered crystal structure. The obtained magnet contains as a main ingredient a compound having a stable crystal structure of body- centered tetragonal ThMn12 structure with Ti, has higher Curie point than that of R2Fe12 compound, largely improves its saturated magnetization, and obtains high magnetic properties.
