Title:
RARE-EARTH PERMANENT MAGNET ALLOY AND ITS PRODUCTION
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH02129343
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a rare-earth magnet alloy excellent in anisotropy by providing a multiphase state in which specific phases exist in the form of a fine mixture at the time of unidirectionally solidifying a molten R-T-M permanent magnet alloy.

CONSTITUTION: At the time of using a method for unidirectionally solidifying a molten R-T-M alloy (where R means rare earth elements including Y, T means transition metals containing Al and S, and M means one or more elements including B among B, C, and N), the above procedure is carried out under the condition of ≥3mm/h rate of crystalline growth. By this method, the rare-earth permanent magnet alloy having a structure in a mulitiphase state in which R2T1M phase, R-enriched binding phase, and M-enriched phase exist in the form of a fine mixture and also having a practically unidirectionally grown crystalline structure can be obtained. This alloy has high coercive force.
