In the rattling preventing structure of a steering column for preventing any excessive play of the steering column to an outer cylindrical housing 2 of a movable jacket 5 in which a steering wheel is coupled with an end of a steering shaft turnably arranged in the movable jacket 5, two holes 27 are separately formed in the axial direction in the outer cylindrical housing 2 located outside; pressing members 29 are fitted in the holes 27; a screw hole 28 is formed in the middle of the holes 27 in the axial direction; the pressing members 29 are urged by a leaf spring 31 fixed by a screw 32 to be screwed to the screw hole 28; and the pressing members 29 are pressed against outer circumferential surface of the movable jacket 5; and a spacer 30 formed of an elastic material is provided around the pressing members 29.
