To provide a raw material supply apparatus capable of being easily mounted on a conventional raw material supply apparatus and capable of preventing refuse from getting mixed in a molding machine, and a control method.
The raw material supply apparatus (1) for supplying a raw material (Pi) to the molding machine (I) includes a dryer (10) for drying the raw material (Pi) to supply a predetermined amount of the raw material, a pressure air device (3) for transporting the supplied raw material (PI) by air through a main transport pipe (9), a plurality of transport hoppers (Ho) for storing the raw material (Pi) transported by the individual branch pipes (Q) branched from the main transport pipe (9), the transport automatic valves (CV) provided to the discharge sides of the transport hoppers (Ho), an additive supply means (40) mounted in the vicinity of the transport hopper (Ho) of the branch pipe (Q) communicating with the specific hopper (Ho) among the transport hoppers (Ho), and the specific transport hopper (Ho). The raw material (Pi) and/or the predetermined additive (Sm) is supplied to the moldinhg machine (I) from the transport hoppers (Ho) by opening the transport automatic valves (CV).
