Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a raw spinning slurry capable of producing an alumina continuous fiber and with the quality such as strength improved.

CONSTITUTION: An aq. soln. of a water-soluble aluminum salt, an alumina powder, and a sintering assistant, as required, are used as the raw material to prepare a raw spinning slurry for an alumina continuous fiber. In this method, ≥1 kind of acid selected from hydrochloric acid and 1-4C carboxylic acids by 3-15 pts.wt. based on the total weight of the oxides of the alumina continuous fiber and an alumina powder are added to an aq. soln. of a water-soluble aluminum salt or the soln. mixed with a sintering assistant, as required, and the mixture is ultrasonically treated to prepare a uniform dispersion. The dispersion is further ultrasonically treated and filtered by a filter, a spinning assistant is added to the obtained filtrate and mixed, and the water content is adjusted to obtain a raw spinning slurry having desired viscosity.
