To provide a raw stock for piles, causing no deterioration of transparency nor degradation of color development in dying even if a metallic compound and a cellulosic derivative are added, having higher quality and wet spinning productivity compared with conventional ones and excellent in animal hair tone feeling.

This raw stock for piles is an acrylic one obtained by adding 1-10 wt.% cellulosic derivative and 0.2-2.0 wt.% metallic compound, wherein the total of these additives is 2.0-10.2 wt.%, into an acrylic polymer containing ≥40 wt.% acrylonitrile, ≤59.5 wt.% vinyl-based monomer and 0.5-5 wt.% two kinds of sulfonic group-containing monomer and then wet-spinning the resultant.
