Abstract:
To omit re-grinding and re-coating processes for a drill by maintaining a shape precision of the cutting edge part without causing the degradation of working efficiency and the drop of the number of drilling processes.
A front end flank 13 is re-ground after applying the masking to the surface of the cutting edge part 12 including cutting blades 16, 16 in the drill after use. After that, a hard film is re-coated to the surface of the cutting edge part 12 including the cutting blades 16, 16. Further, the masking, which is applied to the outer peripheral face 17 of the cutting edge part 12 and the inner wall faces 15, 15 of chip discharging grooves 14, 14, is peeled off together with the hard film located on it.
