PURPOSE: To produce a fiber reinforced molding by placing a batt of fibrous reinforcing material on the support for die cavity, supplying s die plunger into the die cavity and impregnating the fibrous batt with a curable liquid chemical substance.

CONSTITUTION: A batt 10 is supported on a land face 19 across a cavity 17 and a rod 28 is moved downward through hydraulic operation in order to move a male plunger 22 to a position where it is lapped over the cavity 17 contiguously thereto. At the same time, a rod 25 and a clamp 26 clamp the peripheral part of the batt 10 to the land face 19 through a cylinder 23. The batt 10 is pressed into a molding cavity 33 between the wall of the cavity 17 and the plunger 22 through downward motion of the rod 28 and the plunger 22. After the surfaces 17a, 21a of a die are fitted and sealed, space between fibers of the matt 10 is filled with a reactive chemical substance which is eventually cured. A plate 35 is pushed up by the molding and removed.
