To provide a new and imdustrially advantageous method for a reaction in which a mediator participates.
This reaction method for activating a mediator with an enzyme or the other mediator-activating means to prepare the activated mediator and then allowing the activated mediator to act on a substrate to achieve a prescribed reaction, characterized by otherwise preparing the activated mediator on the outside of the reaction system and then charging the activated mediate into the reaction system containing the substrate. Preferably, the activated mediator is prepared using the enzyme under mild conditions and then charged into the reaction system in high efficiency under severe conditions. Or preferably, a more highly active mediator or a more highly stable and highly active mediator is prepared using an arbitrary mediator-activating means or the like and then charged into the reaction system.
