Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a method and device for reducing the leaking radiation dose level of a passively cooled reactor without disturbing the air flow which is considered to be required for the passive cooling of the reactor.
CONSTITUTION: A gas containing a radioactive material is sucked from a through chamber 24 and passed through a filter 46 before the gas is sent to the passage 20 between a containment structure 10 and a shielding structure 12. In the passage 20, a low-pressure area is formed of discharge airfoil sections 15 and 40. The action of this lower pressure area is utilized for sucking the gas from the chamber 24.
