Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a separator compact, to shorten separation time of a reaction mixture (slurry) in the separator, to prevent decomposition and deterioration of a catalyst and to restrain a reaction byproduct ant to improve a reaction yield in a reaction system, to unnecessitate power or the like and fine adjustment for operation of the separator, and to stably and continuously perform separation in a multistage inclined sedimentation device arranged in a reactor.
SOLUTION: In a reactor consisting of a reaction tank and a separator for continuously separating a liquid component from a gas-liquid mixture or a liquid-solid mixture, a device for continuously separating a liquid component from a gas-liquid mixture or a liquid-solid mixture is arranged in which on the side wall of the reaction tank, a mixture circulating flow passage having a mixture introducing area and a mixture discharging area is provided, and a flow passage having a fixed inclination is made adjacent to the circulating flow passage, and a flow resistance such as a suitable orifice is provided in the inclined flow passage to make the flow of the liquid-solid mixture in the flow passage a laminar one, thereby precipitating solid and spearing a liquid component.
