Title:
READING HAND
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2005218841
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide an instrument for supporting a book in place of both arms when a user is forced to lead a bed life due to long-term medical treatment or the like, or when the user wants to lie down and read a light book for a while when going to bed usually.

This instrument is equipped to allow reading in a posture of looking up the ceiling. Since the instrument must be devised to fix the book in the open state and not to be so difficult to turn the pages, a plate put to the back of the book to fix the book is formed in shape close to a semicircle, and the open book is held by the front face. The front face of the book formed in a curved surface is fixed by vertically sliding presser straps (curved straps). Although small plates for preventing the fall of the book are put to both sides of a lower part of the plate, these plates can be moved and adjusted to some extent in relation to the size and thickness of the book. The instrument is further devised to be separated in four parts and easily assembled to enable anyone to transport, assemble and implement the instrument.
