To provide a reading stand whose structure is simplified as much as possible to permit easy setting of books.

The reading stand consists of a base, a telescopic support means erected on the base, a holding plate part detachable from a free end of the support means to be inserted/locked in such a way that the angle of inclination can be adjusted, a support shelf part projecting in the orthogonal direction at the lower end of the holding plate part for supporting books, a pair of lower book presser members disposed on the support shelf part, a pair of lower page presser members to be inserted into/removed from the inside under the holding plate part, a pair of upper page presser members to be inserted into/removed from both sides above the holding plate part, and a pair of upper book presser members to be inserted into/removed from the upper part of the holding plate part on the left and right sides. The lower book presser member consists of a book presser member, a male screw part movably inserted into a guide slot formed in the front/rear direction and/or left/right direction on the support shelf part, and a fastening nut screw-engaged with the male screw part via the support shelf part.
