Abstract:
PURPOSE:To improve steering stability and activity of a vehicle by controlling a forward rear axle and a backside rear axle at separate steering angles by a common actuator connecting torque rods to the body. CONSTITUTION:Leaf springs 23 carry between the front ends thereof a forward rear axle 13 and between the rear ends thereof a backside rear axle 14. The forward rear axle 13 has an upper central portion 12 connected through a pair of torque rods 25 disposed in V-shaped configuration to a cross member 28 connecting right and left frames 10. The forward rear axle 13 has both ends connected through torque rods 26 to trunnion brackets 20. The backside rear axle 14 also has a central portion connected to the cross member through torque rods 25 and both ends connected to trunnings 20 through torque rods 27. Hydraulic cylinders 33 are provided to separately move the right and left torque rods 26, 27, permitting control of the forward rear axle and the backside rear axle at separate steering angle.
