To prevent the occurrence of roof damage or the like by conducting sufficient snow removal or snow coverage restraint on an inclined plane of a roof.SOLUTION: A posteriorly installed-type snow sweeping device 1 has left and right sliders 10, 20 provided at left and right edges of an inclined plane 102 of a roof 101, left and right sliders driving means 30, 40 for vertically moving the left and right sliders 10, 20, a wire-like body 50 annularly bridged between the left and right sliders 30, 40, wire-like body driving means 60 for circularly driving the wire-like body 50, control means 70 for controlling the driving means 30, 40, 60, and detecting means 80 for detecting the presence of compacted snow on the inclined plane 102. The control means 70 conducts first control processing of vertically moving the left and right sliders 10, 20 while circularly driving the wire-like body 50 to sweep snow, and second control processing of stopping the driving of the left and right sliders 10, 20 when detecting compacted snow and alternately repeating right-handed circulated driving and left-handed circulated driving of the wire-like body 50.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
