Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable the arrangement of a backrest for enhancing a fellow passenger's comfortableness on a pillion seat in the rear of the pillion seat while enabling the loading of relatively large luggage on a rear carrier to be arranged in the rear of the pillion seat so as not to hinder the attaching and detaching operation of the pillion seat to a vehicle body in a rear load carrying device for motorcycle having the rear carrier supported by a pair of stays fixed to the lateral rear part of the vehicle body.
SOLUTION: The backrest 34 is supported between both the stays 28 so as to be rotatable between a raised position where it is located above the rear end of the pillion seat 25b to be contactable with the waist part of the fellow passenger on the pillion seat 25b from back and a housing position where it is rotated backward from above the rear end part of the pillion seat 25b and housed in the front part of the rear carrier 27 so that the luggage can be placed thereon.
