Abstract:
PURPOSE: To monitor the rear area of a car only when the car is backing by actuating a monitoring system interlocked to a reverse gear switch which detects the shifting of a transmission gear to the reverse position.
CONSTITUTION: When an engine is started by turning on an ignition switch 7, a monitoring system 10 will not be actuated as a reverse gear switch is in off position and the power will not be supplied to the monitoring system 10 from the power source 6 in case of a forward movement. When a transmission gear is shifted to the reverse the reverse gear switch is turned on to supply the power to the monitoring system 10 from the power source 6 thus actuating the monitoring system.
