Abstract:
PURPOSE:To improve the toe-in control for a backward load by making the deflection characteristic of a lateral link system a nonlinear characteristic against the lateral force and making the deflection characteristic of a trailing link system a nonlinear characteristic corresponding to it in a suspension for rear wheel. CONSTITUTION:The deflection characteristic of a lateral link 3 on the front side is set to a nearly linear characteristic against the lateral force as shown by a line A, and the deflection characteristic of a lateral link 4 on the rear side is set to a nonlinear characteristic having hooked points alpha1, alpha2 as shown by a line B. The deflection characteristic of a trailing link 10 is set to a nonlinear characteristic having two hooked points corresponding to the nonlinear characteristic of the rear wheel lateral link 4 system. According to this constitution, the toe-in direction displacement of the rear wheel is invariably made larger than the toe-out direction displacement of the rear wheel caused by the deflection deformation of the lateral link system, thus the toe-in control for a backward load can be performed reliably and effectively.
