Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rear suspension for a vehicle capable of realizing both floor area enlargement and lowering of the floor in a vehicle.
SOLUTION: A cross pipe 4 is disposed on the underside of a vehicle floor 1 with the base end of a trailing arm 10 rotatably supported at the end thereof, a torsion bar 14 is inserted into the cross pipe 4 with the outer end thereof connected to the base end side of the trailing arm 10, and a shock absorber 21 is almost horizontally disposed on the underside of the floor 1 so as to connect the vehicle body side to the trailing arm 10. The floor 1 is enlarged in the vehicle width direction by eliminating the necessity of disposing a coil spring and shock absorber between the floor 1 and a rear wheel 13 as in a conventional vehicle. Rising of the floor 1 is avoided by almost horizontally disposing the torsion bar 14 and the shock absorber 21.
