PURPOSE: To provide a rear vehicle body structure provided with an air spoiler having an excellent aerodynamic characteristic in addition to the primary function of the air spoiler and not impairing the beautiful appearance of the rear section of a vehicle structure in a hatch-back type automobile.

CONSTITUTION: A back door 10 is provided so that the upper face of the rear section of the back door 10 is offset downward by the preset size against the upper face of rear fenders 14 located on both sides in the vehicle width direction at the rear section of the back door 10. An air spoiler 12 extended in the vehicle width direction is provided at the rear section of the back door 10 so that the upper faces of both end sections of the air spoiler 12 are made nearly the same plane as the upper faces of the rear fenders 14.
