Abstract:
PURPOSE: To allow a large angle steering to the same phase side and the opposite phase side prohibit a large angle steering to the opposite phase side according to a running condition.
CONSTITUTION: A rear wheel steering control method for a vehicle in which operating pressure oil is supplied from a hydraulic pump 3 to a hydraulic cylinder 4 via a steering angle control valve 5 to steer a rear wheel 25 by an angle corresponding to the magnitude of the operating oil pressure to the same side and the opposite phase side, the operating pressure oil which arrives from the hydraulic pump 3 at the steering control valve 5 is increased as a front wheel steering angle is increased. If the front wheel steering angle is small, the maximum steering angle of the rear wheel 25 is limited to be small and if the front steering angle is large a large angle of steering of the rear wheel 25 is allowed. If the running speed of the vehicle exceeds a preset speed, a large angle opposite-phase steering of the rear wheel 25 is prohibited and the preset speed is changed according to a friction coefficient between the wheel and a road surface.
