Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To regulate lowering of a car body rear part at the time of rear-end collision.
SOLUTION: A torsion beam 12 connecting left and right trailing arms 11 to each other is arranged so as to pass on a backward extended locus of a rear differential case 2. A damper 16 installed between the beam 12 and a car body is inclined so as to be positioned frontward as it goes upward. A back surface of the rear differential case 2 is made a curved part 14 projected backward, and the beam 12 is positioned below its top part 14a. A central part 12a in the car width direction of the beam 12 is positioned higher than an end part. A lower end part of an inclined lateral link 15 is connected to the beam 12, and its upper end part is connected to the car body. An exhaust pipe is made to by-pass above the beam 12, and a rear part positioned in the rear of the beam 12 out of this by-passed part is inclined and set so as to be positioned below toward the rear. A storage space of a seat and a spare tire is formed in the rear of the beam 12 at height which is higher than the same height of the beam 12.
