The receiver comprises: a plurality of finger circuits 41-4n for despreading a plurality of received signals, respectively, a RAKE synthesizing section 50 for synthesizing received signals which are despread by at least one of a plurality of finger circuits 41-4n; a circuit 60 for measuring the power value 104 of reception data 102 compounded at the RAKE compounding section 50; an error detection circuit 72 for measuring the error rate 105 of the compounded reception data 102; an error correction circuit 71 for correcting error of the compounded reception data 102; and a power supply control section 80 for stopping power supply to objective circuits based on the power value 104 and the error rate 105. The objective circuits are at least one of the plurality of finger circuits 41-4n, and the error correction circuit 71.
