The onboard television (receiver for the mobile object) includes: a GPS receiver for detecting the position of a vehicle 150; a storage unit for storing channels A1-A4 receivable in an area A; and a control unit configured to retrieve channels B1-B4 receivable in an area B and storing the channels B1-B4 in the storage unit in addition to the channels A1-A4 when it is detected by the GPS receiver that the vehicle 150 moves to a boundary area C.
