Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve an error rate characteristic by assuming a virtual coder that is a united coder of a line model and a convolution coder and using it to conduct Viterbi decoding thereby conducting MLSE (Maximum Likelihood Sequence Estimator) equalization and Viterbi decoding for convolution codes simultaneously.
SOLUTION: In the data transmitter, a convolution coder 501 codes transmission data 500 in the transmission system and a modulator 502 modulates the coded data and a transmission antenna 503 sends the modulated signal. Furthermore, in a reception system, a reception signal received by a reception antenna 504 is given to a UDMV(United Depoder with MLSE and Viterbi decoder) 505 via a detector to compensate distortion resulting from multi-path fading and to conduct error correction by Viterbi decoding thereby acquiring demodulated data 506. The UDMV 505 are a united demodulator between the MLSE and the Viterbi decoder.
