Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To forcedly limit programs not to be observed by children or the like.
SOLUTION: A block control part 56 compares a password stored in an EEPROM 55 with a password inputted by operating an input part 47, and only when both passwords coincide with each other, a scramble key is supplied from a decoder 43 to a descrambler 44. Consequently a program received by a tuner 30 is descrambled. The password stored in the EEPROM 55 is constituted so as to be updated only when a clear flag is stored in the EEPROM 55 and the clear flag is transmitted when a parent or the like communicates to a broadcasting station (center station).
