To provide a receiving device capable of keeping signal reception accuracy, while using analog/digital converters (ADC) with the small numbers of bits.
A receiving device includes: a first analog/digital converter for quantizing a difference between a sample value to be obtained by sampling a reception signal of an NRZ system and a sample value immediately before the sample value, in synchronization with a first clock signal; a second analog/digital converter for quantizing a sample value to be obtained by sampling a reception signal, in synchronization with a second clock signal whose phase is different from that of the first clock signal; a data determination unit for restoring reception data which is expressed by the reception signal, based on a change in the output of the first analog/digital converter; a phase detector for extracting phase shifts between a synchronization signal of the reception signal and the first clock signal, and the second clock signal, based on the output of the second analog/digital converter and the reception data restored by the data determination unit; and a phase adjustment unit for adjusting the phases of a first clock and a second clock, based on the phase shifts.
