Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To finely control a directivity pattern by performing arbitrary continuous phase control over respective antenna elements of a phased array antenna.
SOLUTION: Reception antenna elements 204-1 to 204-n receive radio signals transmitted through space, and low noise amplifiers 202-1 to 202-n amplify the reception signals. Voltage-controlled phase shifters 22-1 to 22-n control an arbitrary amount of phase and amplitude for the reception signals according to phase shift control voltage signals inputted from a D/A converter 100. An in-phase combiner 200 combines the reception signals whose amplitude and phase are controlled by the shifters 22-1 to 22-n respectively, and adjusts the directivity pattern of a receiver unit 2.
