The reception method comprise: a first state in which, when received copy control information can be copied without restriction condition, received information in remote access mode permits retransmission output of digital content to the outside of the home, and received output-protection information indicates that it should be protected at the time of outputting, received digital content is encrypted and accumulated on a built-in record medium as content that can be copied without restriction condition and the accumulated content is encrypted and controlled to enable retransmission output to the outside; and a second state in which, when the received copy control information can be copied without restriction condition, and the received output-protection information indicates that it need not be protected at the time of outputting, the received digital content is accumulated without encryption on the built-in record medium as content that can be copied without restriction condition.
