To provide a recessed type light emitting device capable of suppressing reduction of a quantity of light and a sense of beauty, capable of enhancing safety of a pedestrian by preventing a slip, and capable of making its entire surface uniformly emit light.
This recessed type light emitting device 1 is equipped with a see-through glass plate 4 having plural projections 19 formed at prescribed intervals on its surface, a transparent flat light guide plate 7 disposed below the see-through glass plate 4, a light emitting diode 9 disposed on the side of the light guide plate 7, a light diffusing and reflecting plate 8 disposed below the light guide plate 7 to diffuse and reflect the light of the light emitting diode 9, and a casing 2 to dispose the see-through glass plate 4 in the opening part 3 on its upper surface. This device is also equipped with a solar battery 10 and a storage battery 12 to store electric energy obtained by the solar battery 10. In addition, a fluorescent white body is provided on the back of the light guide plate 7.
