Abstract:

PURPOSE: To reduce the current of a motor and permit the efficient operation of the pump by a method wherein a piston ring for a larger piston is expanded forcibly upon the operation of the smaller piston, in order to reduce sliding torque.

CONSTITUTION: A plunger 75 is attracted to a core 74a and a movable lever 61 is rotated counterclockwisely about a pin 63. At this time, the second piston ring 12 is separated from the second piston 9b and is expanded toward the outside thereof, therefore, a clearance is produced between the second piston ring 12 and the second piston 9b and the clearance is brought into non-sealed condition. Accordingly, driving torque for the second pump is not necessary substantially upon operating as a compressor, therefore, the driving torque may be reduced.
