To provide a reciprocating pump having a mechanism for converting the rotation of a rotational drive shaft to the reciprocating motion thereof without any or substantially any outflow of a lubricant.
This diaphragm pump 48 comprises a diaphragm 50 and the converting mechanism 53. A cam groove 56, rollers 60, and a radial bearing 61 form the converting mechanism 53 for reciprocating the diaphragm 50 in the direction of an axis 553 approximately parallel with each other. The converting mechanism 53 is closed in a space inside the cylinder of a fitting body 62. A spiral groove 63 is formed in the peripheral surface 552 of the rotational drive shaft 55. The direction of the spiral of the spiral groove 63 is so formed as to be apart from the cam groove 56 toward the rotating direction R1 of the rotational drive shaft 55.
