To eliminate the problems that a conventional back-rest cannot be inclined for a patient having a pain at the waist because an angle between the back-rest and a sitting surface becomes large and the patient feels anxious or takes vertigo because the head part of the patient shows a large amount of motion in a forward or rearward direction of the patient when the back-rest is inclined.
A reclining device for a chair or a bed is provided, in which a front seat segment 31 of two-split seat segments 3 is inclined rearward in compliance with the realizing angle of the back-rest at an angle fallen by about 45° from a raised state of the back-rest 4; a rear seat segment of the seat segments keeps an initial angle, and the back-rest can be fallen by about 45° while a holding angle of the patient at a physical main body is kept at an equal state of the seated state.
