To provide a recognition device for bicycles which performs best power generation even in vibration of a bicycle, under impact and/or at low speeds and lights a light-emitting diode reliably.
An attraction magnet assembly having two attraction magnets is fixed to spokes while a coil assembly and a power generation magnet assembly are provided on a coil holding plate and fixed to a frame with a holding band in such a way that the power generation magnet is located on the rotation orbit of the attraction magnets and that the polarities of the attraction magnets and the power generation magnet attract mutually. When the wheel is rotated, the magnetic forces of the attraction magnets and the power generation magnet attract mutually; the power generation magnet moves instantaneously within a pipe; a current flows in the coil; and a light-emitting diode at the terminal is lighted. When the attraction magnets separate from the power generation magnet, the power generation magnet is pulled back instantaneously by the pulling back action of a pulling spring; a current in the opposite direction flows in the coil; and the light-emitting diode at the terminal is lighted again through rectification of a bridge diode.
