The recognizing device for containers includes: a tilting plate 8 configured to tilt downward from one end to the other end; a container throw-in chute 4 which is located below the tilting plate 8, has an extending part extending from the other end of the tilting plate 8 in the planar view, is configured to tilt downward from the other end side to one end side of the tilting plate 8, and is further configured to have an inner cross-section area reduced gradually toward one end side of the tilting plate 8; a container chuck part 5 for holding a prescribed container discharged from the container throw-in chute 4, and an information recognizing part 6 which recognizes prescribed information attached to the container held by the container chuck part 5.
