Abstract:

To provide a vaccine excellent in safety and practicality in Nipah virus infection and a method for producing the vaccine, porcine herpesvirus suitable to insertion of a foreign gene of Nipah virus etc., a porcine herpesvirus contributing to defense of Nipah virus infection, DNA thereof, a nonhuman animal infected by the porcine herpesvirus and antiserum thereof.

In the porcine herpesvirus into which a foreign gene can be inserted, a thymidine kinase (TK) gene is lost, proliferation potency is maintained, and attenuation in an infected animal and immune induction ability are provided. A gene for encoding protein involved in defense of Nipah virus infection is inserted into genome of the porcine herpesvirus.
