Title:
RECORDER AND METHOD FOR DETECTING INK
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3133866
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a recorder and a method for detecting ink by which ink is detected easily and surely.
CONSTITUTION: In the case of detecting whether ink supplied into a head 1 remains, firstly thermal energy is impressed from a heater 20 to ink is such a degree that discharge of ink does not occur. The temperature of the head at the time is measured by a sensor. Then thermal energy is impressed in such a degree that discharge of ink occurs. The temperature of the head at the time is measured. When ink exists, a part of impressed heat is exhausted together with ink. Therefore the temperature is lowered in comparison with the case where ink does not exist. Furthermore, in order to correct the solid difference of the head, the ratio of above-mentioned both temperatures is calculated and compared with the preset reference value to judge whether ink remains.
