Abstract:
To quickly detect an abnormality of an ink ribbon without adding a member on a transfer path of the ink ribbon in a recorder which records an image by delivering a recording wire from a recording head via the ink ribbon.
A dot impact printer 10 recording the image by delivering the recording wire from the recording head 30 via the ink ribbon 51 transferred between the recording head 30 and a recording medium, is configured to take up the ink ribbon 51 by holding the ink ribbon between two rollers in a ribbon cartridge 50 which stores the ink ribbon 51. The abnormality of a winding state of the ink ribbon 51 is detected on the basis of an operation state of one roller when the other of the two rollers is rotated.
