Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a recorder capable of obtaining appropriate printing density and a recording density regulating method in the recorder without depending on an image data or the number of recording elements driven simultaneously.
CONSTITUTION: A recorder records an image on a recording medium by driving a thermal head 48 having a plurality of heating elements 47. When a plurality of heating elements 47 are divided into a plurality of blocks and recording is carried out by conducting a current according to an image data for each block, the number of heating elements electrified in each block is counted with a black dot counter 50. A pulse width to be applied to each block according to the counter number is read from a heat table 6. The pulse width to be electrically conducted to each block is variably controlled according to the pulse width information inputted from the table 6.
