PURPOSE: To enable high speed recording by providing an electron beam generator which generates an electron beam for ejection of a recording liquid through a heated nozzle.
CONSTITUTION: Electrons generated from an electron beam source EBn by projecting an acceleration voltage into a nozzle W are projected to Wn (n=1, 2...) to heat Wn and at the same time, electrically charge a recording liquid IK in a nozzle Wn. If a heating part H becomes hot at a higher temperature than the evaporation temperature of the recording liquid IK in the nozzle W, bubbles B generate in the heating part H, resulting in the rapid increase of a pressure in the nozzle W. At the same time, part of the recording liquid which exists in a part between an orifice OF and the heating part H is discharged from the orifice OF. The discharged recording liquid becomes liquid droplets which are charged by a high voltage applied to the nozzle W. The liquid droplets hit recording paper A soon to cause a recording liquid to adhere to the surface of the paper. The recording liquid is replenished from a recording liquid supply direction on the orifice OF side and its opposite side following the contraction of the volume of the bubbles B by cutting off the electron beam which is projected to the heating part H.
