Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the throughput at the time when a recording medium is carried.
SOLUTION: At a moment in time when the trailing end of a recording sheet 34n on the n-th page passes through the position of a sheet feed roller 33, the uppermost recording sheet 34 mounted on a sheet feed tray 35 is pressed against the sheet feed roller 33 by means of a spring 36 and then the sheet feed roller 33 rotates to start feeding of a recording sheet 34n+1 on the (n+1)th page. The recording sheet 34n+1 on the (n+1)th page is fed under such a positional relation as the leading end part thereof overlaps the blank part at the trailing end of the recording sheet 34n on the n-th page on the print face thereof. Subsequently, the recording sheets 34n and 34n+1 on the n-th page and (n+1)th page are carried simultaneously while keeping the overlapping state.
