Abstract:
To provide a recorder compatible with a longer sheet, while avoiding decrease in usability of the device which may be caused in conventional recorders that each require an increased installation space of the device necessary for a tray to be extended, with the length of the entire tray in an extended state having to be increased.SOLUTION: A recorder includes: a medium support portion forming a support surface for supporting a medium before feeding; a feed roller that feeds a medium, supported by the medium support portion, in a feed direction; and a device body that includes the medium support portion and the feed roller. The medium support portion is, in a switchable manner, in either of a stored state in which it is stored in the device body and a projecting state in which an upstream portion in the feed direction projects from a first side surface being one of side surfaces forming a periphery of the device body, and the support surface is extended more than that in the stored state. In the projecting state of the medium support portion, a downstream end of the support surface in the feed direction is located close to a second side surface between the first side surface and the second side surface, which is a side surface opposite to the first side surface.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
