Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce occurrence of a recording failure by detecting presence of an obstacle such as crease on a recording medium until immediately before starting recording with an inkjet discharge head.SOLUTION: A recording device includes: an inkjet discharge head 13; a tray 3 having a recording medium T set thereon; a movement mechanism 17 for moving the tray having the recording medium set thereon relatively to a recording zone of the inkjet discharge head; and a first sensor 31 for detecting presence of an obstacle 6 on the recording medium. Further, the first sensor 31 is disposed so that a position 8 for detecting presence of the obstacle 6 is apart from a nozzle array 10 of the inkjet discharge head 13 toward upstream by a distance D1 that is larger than L1, where L1 is defined as a length of the nozzle array.
